I got into CrossFit in 2012 to support my fitness while I was still racing dirtbikes. Twice a week, cherry-picked workouts — I wasn't exactly all in. Eventually I stepped away and got into jiu jitsu, and CrossFit became more of a training tool than anything else. Something I needed to get an edge in competition. Slowly, at the right gym, with the right people, I actually started to enjoy it.
That gym closed. But I stayed connected to the people, including my now co-owner Brock. One day he told me he was going to open a CrossFit gym. I told him I'd help however I could. Coaching wasn't part of the plan — but when a friend asks, you show up. I'm glad I did.
I earned my CF-L1 and have been coaching at Arnold CrossFit since 2023. What I look forward to most is watching athletes do something they swore they couldn't. A PR, a first rep of a movement they've been chasing — that never gets old.
One of my favorite parts of this whole journey is that I've been here from the beginning. Watching Arnold CrossFit grow from the ground up is something I don't take for granted.
Outside the gym you'll find me at a dirt track on most Saturday nights somewhere in the Midwest.
